One Day Picnic to Hadshi Temple Near Pune

It was Sunday and monsoon was just about to over so climate was pretty fresh and cool. We decided to visit some nearby place to enjoy nature and get some relaxation. One of my friend suggested me about Hadshi temple so we decided to visit there.
Hadshi temple can be done in half a day time from Pune. From Mumbai, you can plan One day trip. Hadshi temple is of Vitthal-Rukmini (called as Pandurang Kshetra ) which was Built by Shri Satya Sai baba. This temple is very clean, huge and surrounded by mountains.
Time:  approximate 1.5 hour drive from Pune
Route-1: Chandni Chowk > Pirangut > Paud > Kolvan > Hadshi   (suggested if you stay in core Pune or Hadapsar area)
Route-2: Hinjewadi Phase-3 > Ghotawade >  Chhale > Kolvan > Hadshi (suggested if you stay in PCMC area)
Route-3: Old Mumbai-Pune highway > Somatane Phata > Pawana Lake > Hadshi (suggested if you stay in Dehu/Talegaon area)
We left around 10 am and reached at temple around 11.30 am. Roads leading towards temple is not in very good condition but not very bad also. But be safe and drive slowly on these roads. Some point’s only one vehicle can pass at a time.

Restroom facility is available near temple thought it’s not that much clean.

Just beside temple there is “Sant Darshan Museum” which is newly built. Entry fee is slightly higher. Its 150 rs. per head as it’s privately owned. Inside museum you will have many statues created by artists. Pictures are not allowed inside museum. It will take around 1 hour to cover entire museum. They give information about Maharashtra Sants.
Swingladder and boating were available for children though you might not able to use them during monsoon season.

While return journey we came from “Pawana lake > Old Mumbai-Pune highway” route where we enjoyed beautiful sunset from Pawana Lake. There are many resorts and localities available here which offer you over night camping experience along with Kayaking, Pedal Boating, Barbecue etc.
Overall, it was good short trip for us and we feel very positive and energetic after visiting the Hadshi temple.

  • Travel on bike is safe but only during weekends and daytime (specially for couples)
  • Ideal for 1 day family picnic where Kids can also enjoy
  • Better to carry snack from home if Kid is with you
